Zipolite was a vacation from the vacation. While I've never been one to waste away days on a beach, I could certainly learn. We were early to rise for yoga; passed the afternoons in a hammock, and drank tall beers out of liter bottles around picnic tables and lapping waves. Our daily commute was down the beach, to seek out a coconut for its juice or a vendor for food or crafts. We would play in the surf and find sea-shells, but mostly we would just sit around and relax. It wasn't until I arrived here where I would let my feet seep into the sand, and then kick them up, and climb into a hammock in the shade and finally relax... If only for that once-a-year moment where you are free.
